“Everybody needs beauty as well as bread,
places to play in and pray in,
where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.”
John Muir
Morning crests the hill,
Light glides down the long field.
Ice gilds the forest pools.
Wherever you are, whatever the weather,
I wish you 'beauty as well as bread.'
I wish you 'beauty as well as bread.'

This reminds me of a proverb I've heard, "The sky is the bread of the poor." Sometimes the sky is very simple and pure, and sometimes busy and exciting, but for most of us, it's always there and available whenever we need perspective - and a shot of beauty.
Love the images of your special homeplace.
A beautiful sunny day by the woods.
Much to do
but do not feel like doing anything but enjoying the sunshine.
Think I will be lazy for a while.
Son returns from N.Y. this afternoon
and have to cook...
Gretchen Joanna, Thank you for your visit and your insights. Am definitely a sky-watcher. There is always something to see.
Ernestine, Enjoy your lazy day. We all need that from time to time. Son is lucky to have Mom's cooking when he visits! Enjoy that too.
I DID take a stroll today! Yay!
