Road Trip

One afternoon in October, we set out to find autumn in the Appalachians. it was a long drive though several states, but worth every mile. Over creeks and around and through mountains in West Virginia we drove.

Then on through the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, we traveled, betwixt and between the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Up through Pennsylvania to listen to beautiful music and watch the beautiful people of all stripes in downtown Philadelphia.

Antique shopping on a Sunday aterrnoon in Amish country, while the humble folk clip clop home from their gatherings in black buggies.

We returned on a blue sky Monday , heading north and west, back to the comforts of home and the familiar routine.

Where ever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you the joy of discovery.

Looks fun seeing some wonderful sights. It is starting to fade a bit around here, but still lots of color.

Your trip sounds wonderul! I so enjoyed the photos you shared. I love the Appalachian Mountains and have always enjoyed reading the names of the cricks/creeks we cross and of course the leaves are so pretty this time of year.
Have a great week!

Someday you might like to travel New England in the fall. It is quite, quite wonderful. I marvel at it, and I've lived here all my life.

How lovely to have been able to take a little drive.....

We so miss that....

Since my husband's eyesight has so deteriorated, we can't really drive very far. I can, but I do not, not, not feel comfortable on big roads any more.

Keep enjoying such trips!!!!

I have been in New England in September but never at peak color. I can well believe that it is beautiful and would love to visit then!

My traveling companion was journeying to visit her son near Philadelphia. She is 78 and had always wanted to travel this route in Autumn...so we did!

I had to conquer a few fears for this one, Tessa. City driving is my kryptonite. lol. I will try to travel as I am able. I hope you had some grand adventures. Life is always adjusting, isn't it?
