The Alchemy of Childhood...
When you add sweetness, clear diction, a good vocabulary, and a few years of life experience to a little boy, you can never be quite sure what you'll get. This morning Tanka gave me a huge, beaming smile. I thanked him for such a nice smile and he said (and I quote), "That smile was a present. It was filled with love. The hearts in the love were filled with... soymilk."

That quote is darling!! One to write down and save and keep! :)
Also, I love the photos of your walks. I'm particularly fond of the mushroom photos.
Thank you. I did write it down in his "Funny book" (Which is actually currently a document on the PC. Really need to get a book for this kid's quotes... He's a stitch!)
Thanks for the nice comments on the photos of our walks! :)
What a sweetie pie that Tanka is! And what a great idea to write these things down, I so wish I'd done that when my kids were young.
Aisling, may I ask what kind of camera you use? Your pics are gorgeous!
Rapunzel, Thanks for the compliment on my photos. I really enjoy taking them. My camera is a Canon Powershot A80. There are newer version, probably with updated capability (mine is probabl 3 or 4 years old) and if I had to buy another, I would stick in the Canon Powershot line. Two family members have a different brand and aren't nearly as pleased.
Aisling, I am partial to Canon in "regular" cameras, have never been disappointed with one. I'm researching digital now, would like to treat myself to one for Mother's Day. :-) Thank you for the recommendation!
what a sweet thing for a little child to say, actually it would be wonderful from an adults lips too.
Really it is profound insight into the concept of love from such a small body.
Patty, It was profound, wasn't it? "Soymilk" seemed like a funny ending, until my husband said, "He picked something he knows you really like." So true. I may have to include more "Tanka-ism's" here in the future. He is always saying something that makes you stop and think. :)
your blog is very intersting. i also love the photos. beautiful.
Becky, Thanks for your nice comments and for visiting my blog! It's nice to see a new "face" among my commenters! :)
Lady's Mantle is very good for women's complaints - especially heavy periods.
Anonymous, Thank you for commenting. My "herbal" mentions that and also for balancing menopausal symptoms. I will be writing more about this herb when it blooms in the summertime. If you stop by again, I'd love to know whose commenting: a name, a nickname, a blog addy, if you're comfortable sharing any of those things. :)
