The Ice-Forming Moon...

This same November moon, the Ice-Forming Moon, rose over our own familiar snow-covered hills, but we saw it rise above Millenium Park in the Windy City.

Makes you want to wrap up snuggly and take a cup of cocoa outside for some moon-gazing on a cold autumn night.

Grace, Even in that city full of lights, the beautiful moon caught my eye. Here in the country, it takes center stage. I'm with you, some hot cocoa and a big warm blanket and moon-gazing can be as alluring in November or December as it is in August. January and February around here, however, are a little off-putting! *grin*

This is an amazing picture - so much gold. Do you have family in Chicago?

Nan, The city just shines in that photo, doesn't it? Yes, we have family in the suburbs near Chicago. We visited with them for a lovely Thanksgiving feast and then made a little venture into the city on "Black Friday."

Ice-forming Full Moon... Leaf-falling Moon... Beautiful new Full Moon names, to me...

I loved learning those full moon names a few years ago. Still think of them as each full moon rises in its turn.
