Oh, the bees. Did you read The Secret Life of Bees?

I did... and another good "bee story" is The Keeper of the Bees by Gene Stratton Porter.

These hives are on the neighboring farm, but we did have a hive here one year.

Thanks for visiting! :)

I'll have to check out The Keeper of the Bees. Thank you!

How did I miss this post? Oh, yes. We had no DSL for a couple of days. I am going to do a post on Uncle Cleo's Sourwood Honey. The Sourwood trees are in bloom now and his sourwood honey was just a clear tasty treat. I will probably do it next Tuesday when I do my curiousity observations.
I read The Keeper of the Bees many times as a youngster. Loved it.

Mom,
Somehow I've actually managed to do a post each day for about 2 weeks. That never happens!

I can't remember if I had Uncle Clio's honey, though I imagine I did. It's funny... whenever I smell cumin, I think of that house. Weird, huh?

Well, after Grandma died and just a couple of old bachlors were housekeeping it did gain a 'aura' of past cooking and chain smoking. It wasn't unpleasant, just a reflection of two old guys with just a whiff of the stories they'd told and retold.
