I see the wind sculpture on the deck slowly turning and branches swaying in a dance that never seems to end on this windswept ridge.
I hear my sons chatting... one voice deep and the other still lilting in the sing-song tones of childhood. I am adding to the cheerful clutter of sound as I hum some of the music from the Native American drumming group I sang with this morning.
I smell acorn squash roasting and fragrant steam rising from chickpeas, freshly cooked in the pressure cooker and ready to be made into falafel as soon as I get motivated!
I taste warm, spicy tea.

I feel glad for the social activities which keep us active and entertained, and even more glad for the quiet comfortable retreat of home.
It continues to rain... on and on and on. We are adjusting and especially joyful at every glimpse of sunlight or blue sky. There have been no glimpses of sunshine today, so we are making our own light and warmth in the kitchen.
Wherever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you comfort and light.

HI A!
Oh, yes! I love the idea of making your own warmth in the kitchen. It sounds like a cozy location at your house.
Oh, this was wonderful to read. I wouldn't mind your falafel recipe!
A nice sensory stroll.
Thank you for reading about a quiet moment in my day.
Nan, I will "measure myself" the next time I make it and post a recipe. I just throw everything in the food processor, but I don't measure. Essentially, I make hummus but add 2 tablespoons of flour so the mixture holds together well enough to form falafel.
