As I sit outside on this first morning in August,
I hear wind in the leaves of five thousand trees,
Bird song, squirrel chatter, and the staccato thrumming of partridge wings.
I see light washing over the wide blue sky and spilling all through the garden.
I taste wonder and fresh country air.
I smell sage and a tangle of mint and the warm, sweet arrival of August.
I feel sunlight on my skin and cool earth beneath my feet, and a wild surge of gratitude rising within.
Where ever you are, whatever the weather I wish you a heart full of gratitude.
