Great pictures! The sunflower would make a great calendar motive for the month of August.
No cedar trees here in Germany (except for in some botanical gardens maybe), and the nearest beach is 800 km from where I live, but I still have plenty to like about August - about any month, actually :-)

A wonderful August stroll through your spaces - thank you for sharing! It is hot here...hot and dry. I envy your thunderstorm a wee bit. Hot & dry has allowed us to enjoy my mom's swimming pool though, so I will not complain. :)
