Walk with me, out past the garden, to the cedar wood.
Let's step through the wall of trees near
the towering maple,
so good for climbing in,
and resting under.
Let's remember that everywhere we look,
there are small and beautiful details.
It is Middle-May,
and all the world is fragrant,
with apple blossom sweetness
and quiet hints of violet.
The cedar swamp has burst
into verdant green splendor
and even there,
amid the water mint and horsetail,
dandelions bloom.
We can never rush past this handsome fellow,
and we must take a few moments to listen
to Dark Water Creek,
as it flows amid ferns,
and twists and turns
amid the roots
of sheltering trees.
When we step back into the open field,
the sky is a miracle of blue,
and the cedars a celebration of green.
Beneath our feet,
wild strawberries bloom,
and we will remember that
June is just around the corner.
Perhaps we will make a wish,
that spring and summer
will linger this year.
Wherever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you serenity.
If you have time, be sure to check in on Steve's stroll over at Out on the Prairie.

Had a nice stroll after coming home tired from a full week camping.I posted a stroll at, https://crazymountainman.blogspot.com .
A very pleasant stroll indeed. Love all the lovely blossoms, even the yellow ones. :)
Steve, A full week of camping sounds wonderful! It has been a long time since I've camped!
Linda,
Thank you. The dandelions have been large this year, and the yellow is so sunny and happy. I just can't complain, even when they are taking over the yard! :)
Lovely stroll, Marcie. You have beautiful country up there. Sadly, my camera quit working just after I mentioned I'd like to participate in this stroll. Argh. Goodman did say he'd get me another. Have a great week!
Toni, Figures, huh? I have that kind of luck too! Well, stroll along when you can. This is pretty country, and so is your region. Love those gentle mountains!
love your stroll
I miss doing through the woods and fields
can do but want someone with me.
on my deck
it is a smiling monk :)
I love an early morning stroll round the garden, especially if the sun is out - just stopping to take notice of the small things that change day by day is like a meditation.
The Spring is full of sunny warm feelings. Wonderful, full of fresh life photos!
Thank you, Maya. Would like to return your visit, but get an odd link when I click you name. I hope to see you again sometime and find out if you have a blog!
