What a treat. I found one fen that was covered with hundreds of them one year. We spent a day just drawing them, although I did take a few pics. LOL I was shooting slide film that day, a product of the past.

I only found four but was so excited since I have not found them on our acres before. Hundreds would be amazing!!!

So lovely! I haven't seen any for a dozen years or so. We had them on our land in Nova Scotia.

Robin, I read that they were the provincial flower of Prince Edward Island, and I think it said they had to change it to a related species because these had become very rare and were not seen there. I have seen yellow lady's slippers here, but these are my first "Showy Lady's Slippers." Thank you for your visit!
