Sunday Stroll - Immersion

Immersed in the sunshine of a particularly mild March,
my May tulips are blooming in April,
and pansies are peeking up in the front garden.

A tiny misumena vatia, or goldenrod spider,
has taken up residence in the jet-fire narcissus.

Immersed in warmth,
muscari & Rip Van Winkle Daffodils,
white rock cress & wild violets
are blooming along the garden path.

As I walked through the garden,
and up into the woods,
and back down the eastern hill,
this little bee continued to revel
in the beauty of warm gold dust and spring sunshine.

Delicate wild pink tulips are blooming near the silvery lavender.

And in the woodlands,
dogtooth violet is nodding above her mottled leaves.

I wonder if the little bee ever got his fill?
I am about to follow his lead...
I am heading out for a long walk
to the "Sand Hill"
with my seven year old,
to immerse myself in the remaining hours of golden spring sunlight
and the lively, imaginative chatter of my son.
Where ever you are, whatever the weather,
I wish you wonderful hours in which to lose yourself!

I'm so impatient for my tulips to bloom...in the meantime, I can enjoy yours! Thanks for sharing.

You're welcome! Some of mine are particularly early varieties... but that Red Impression is way ahead of schedule. I'm afraid I'll have an odd lull in bloom in May when it should be blooming!

Thank you for visiting!

Hi dear Aisling,
I love your photos today. Isn't spring divine? Soon, you'll be finished with all your school work and you'll have a delicious sense of relief! We went to the zoo. Everything was warm and pretty - the animals were enjoying the sunshine. Even though I'm not big on zoos, it was a great day to see families out bumping up against humanity and other living things!

Spring is indeed divine! Don't you just want to drink in the color and the light? To breath it in... absorb it in through your skin?

Thank you for sharing your day through your comment. Another bright spot in my day. :)

Your palette of colors are scrumptious. Over the years you've acquired such interesting cultivares with such interesting shades of color. I'll bet you and the young one have a delightful outing.

So, so pretty. I am a pansy lover, so of course...it is my favorite photo!

Although, I love mushrooms, too. :)

Marcia, I agree! With my busy schedule, I need this weekly committment to get out and notice the small, slow, and quiet beauties in nature.

Aisling, with computer problems - I am not visiting as much.
I love your pictures and your words.
You speak to my heart and spirit.
Have a wonderful day.
A little cooler here but the sun shines bright.

Ernestine, I'm sorry to hear about your computer problems. It makes one feel disconnected, doesn't it? Thank you for your kind words. It often feels like a mediation for me to write my Sunday Stroll... and I hope it feels like one to read it.

:)

In visiting your blog just now, this top little red beauty was one of the suggested posts. I was drawn to her immediately and popped over for another look. Thanks for sharing your strolls. :)

You are welcome. I like looking at the old strolls from time to time. My life has changed a lot since 2010, but love of nature continues!
