Sunday Stroll - Last Stroll of April

April flowers grow low and sweet,

kissing the earth,

while greeting the sky,

welcoming the spring,

as we walk,
barefoot and joyful,

through days of gray and days of blue,

into the month of May.

Where ever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you joy!

Marcia, Thank you for a very kind comment! I love to take photos and wish I had more time to dedicate to it! I also wish that I had my old camera back, which had the capacity for truly amazing macro photos. I have been sharing hubby's camera since mine stopped working (months ago now) and miss having one on hand at all times, since he takes his to work most days.

April flew by! May and June can creep, as far as I am concerned, because they are two of the most beautiful months in my region. :)

What an abundance of bulbs. They are simply beautiful.

I agree, April went past in a flash!

Margaret, Thank you! I have been gardening in this location for almost 14 years and I add a few new bulbs each falls. I started with Poet's Narcissus; can you tell? They multiply each year, and I now have a couple of beautiful patches.

Aisling~thanks for reminding me that it's the last weekend of April, although it doesn't feel like it here today; cold and grey! Your photographs, flowers, and prose are BEAUTIFUL, as always--and uplifting! Happy Spring!

Ruth, It is cold and gray here too, but the flowers don't seem to mind (although you might notice that the tulips have not opened wide because of the lack of bright sunlight.)

Thank you for your nice comment! :)

What a wondeful bounty of colors and floral designs to sing the wake up songs of spring. Your choices over the years are just delightful. You are still taking very nice close up. I usually have to delete mine, I haven't figured out the knack of getting in close and personal.

Mom, Thank you. Gardening is slow art, isn't it? But I love the gradual transformation through the years, and love the process of moving and "tweaking" and adding just a little something to wake up a tired corner.

Those Poet's Narcissus are a hold over from childhood. I bought the bulbs for these, of course, but you used to grow some near the large dark cherry tree by the kitchen window, do you remember? When I got this garden going, I just had to have some.

Those photos are what I always hope will emerge from my flower shots but really never do - so clear and clean and crisp, those images, just breathtaking.
Thank you for visiting and sharing about your Maudie.

What a dose of sunshine! Thank you, Aisling!
I hope you are feeling like you have all the tasks before you under control. Soon - summer. I have to take one week of classes, but other than that I shall kiss babies and stay up late, get up early, and love the earth. It is so sweet.

Susan,
Thank you for coming by and for your sweet remark about my flower shots. I'm sure I look silly lying on the ground in the garden capturing these images, but I think it is worth it! :)

Pom Pom,
Thank you! It wasn't a bit sunny here today, but the flowers didn't seem to notice. They kind of made their own sunshine, didn't they?

Aisling - beautiful photos.
I remember my past abundant blooms.
First Spring in the woods is a beginning. A smaller garden - but so far I am pleased.
Have a wonderful day.

Ernestine, I know your little place in the woods must be beautiful this spring. The woods need little adornment! Thank you so much for visiting!

Gorgeous. Luscious. 1, 2, and 3 are my faves. So much color!

Marcie said...

Jessica, We had a mild March and April and the flowers are just bursting into bloom all at once. Usually the parade of color moves by at a more sedate pace. I'm loving the color though. It is like therapy... and then add to that sitting on the earth and getting dirt under my fingernails. Good stuff! lol!

Thank you for letting me know that you like these images!

Lovely photos of your Sunday stroll. Our garden is waking up now, so I should be able to participate again in your Sunday Stroll.

Linda, I'll be so pleased to have you join us. I have buds on my iris now, with the color of the petals showing, and they usually bloom in June. We are having some really mixed up weather here this year!
