Spring Blizzard

Snow is piling up,
hiding the grass that was greening up,
just two days ago.

I'm dashing out of the house once n a while
to tend the maple syrup fire.
Then back in to warm my hands, as I
bake fragrant banana bread
and brew hot tea for myself and my son,
who is feeling under the weather.

The world is beautiful,
and the wind is wild.
and home is a cozy place
to spend a quiet day
 with my youngest child.

Wherever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you the blessing of quiet days.

A good day to bake, I made a lemon cake with blackberries and blueberries. Watched my daughter make some jams yesterday from frozen fruit.

Have you ever made a pie with those concords?

The banana bread was yummy... I added dark chocolate chips and pecans. Guess I was feeling decadent! lol

I have never made pie with the concords, but I have eaten it. I had a neighbor who used to make it each year. I need to get my hands on her recipe and try it!

Lemon cake sounds perfect. I LOVE lemon desserts, and you are right, it is a good day to bake! Thanks for visiting!

Banana bread and a cup of hot tea sounds delicious right now. I'll putting the kettle on for my evening cup in must a minute. Love the snow, but I'm ready for spring. I've been planting onions that had sprouted already. Tonight I'm knitting sock heels. (I've had to rip them out twice so it's the third time for this pair. If only I'd read the directions completely the first time...*rolls eyes*)
Hope your son is better soon.
Have a great weekend!

Thank you for the friendly visit, Toni! I think he is feeling better today, but this cough just lingers! Thus, the hot tea and some honey for him.

I admire your ability to make socks at all. Reading the entire set of directions can be so tedious! lol.

I hope you have a beautiful SPRING weekend!

Pom Pom, That warm, sweet bread fresh from the oven was JUST right, yesterday! Today the sun is shining on a very clean, white world! I'm off to do outdoor chores in a few minutes and will tuck a camera in my pocket, just in case! :)

Thank you for visiting. Have a beautiful weekend!

We are back to winter too, and it is a bit of a shock after a few days of fields greening up and geese returning. Can I join you for banana bread and tea? It sounds wonderful!

Please do! :)

In the meantime, thank you for visiting today. It is a shock, but so beautiful and sparkling here today! Hopefully I will add photos later.
