Spring Chorus

It stopped me in my tracks as I approached
the chicken coop in the center of the garden this afternoon.
There was singing in the woods,
a song so joyful and exuberant
that it urged me to hurry down the trail.
I did, with Mabel trotting at my heels.

"Spring is here!" the little swamp singers proclaimed.

My heart sang along
and my steps were lighter,
as I returned to my chores.

Where ever you are, whatever the weather,
I wish you a spring in your step
and somewhere pleasant to spend your time.

Love it! I can just imagine how that felt.
Spring is here at last, I'm sure. I'm in the house for just a few minutes recovering from digging out a raised bed that some wire grass took over. Hate that stuff.
Have a great weekend!

Toni, That is a good kind of tired, isn't it? When you are working hard outdoors and go in for a glass of iced tea or water, and just sit. Love that feeling. lol

Steve, Mine too!

Thank you both for stopping by and letting me know you understand the joy of that moment! :)

Hello - I did enjoy hearing the sounds of spring where you are. Here, the dawn chorus is in full flow; one of the most beautiful sounds. It happens every year, but it never fails to enchant.
