Sunday Stroll: Wild Apples for Breakfast

On a fine late summer morning,
shall we run down through the meadow
where the asters are laughing beneath a cloudy September sky?

We will find hints of Autumn's approach,
over our heads,
and beneath our feet.

And if we dance for joy when we find an evening primose
blooming in the early morning light,
no one will care.
The flowers in this windswept meadow
have been known to dance along.

Before we head back to the house,
let us linger near a favorite tree.
Perhaps we will pluck an apple or two
to take back to those we love.

Where ever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you all the wild, sweet joys of September.

Looks like Steve took a stroll today, and shared it here:  Out on the Prairie
