Happy New Year

It was a beautiful December,

which included many walks along the Lake Michigan shoreline.

In a pause between semesters, I found time to appreciate the serenity of nature.

I have a semester off this winter, and so hope to blog more often,
and to visit the blogging friends that I have missed in this busy season of my life.

Wherever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you a lovely New Year.

Sunday Stroll - Lingering Autumn

It has been a long slow autumn here.

Leaves are clinging to the branches still,

the beautiful colors are lingering.

Wherever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you peace.

Monday Muse - Patty Gyrdy

Haven’t posted in a very long time, but when my son shared this with me, I wanted to share it here. Summer is winding down as a new school year begins.  Here in these northern hills, it is a silver day, full of rain and mist. And, wonderfully, it is Sweater Weather!

Wherever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you joy!

Sunday Stroll - Beauty of Spring

We were fortunate to have both
gray skies and blue this week,
Both sunshine and rain.

The flowers are bursting into bloom
And the earth is alive.

How beautiful is was to spend time in the garden
And on the wilder shores of nature as well,

Wherever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you joy.

Sunday Stroll - Afternoon at the Shore

Down past the towering oaks and ancient cedars,
we approach the shore.

The song of the waves on the rocky shoreline welcomes us.

We walk slowly,
breathing in the beauty
a nearly perfect afternoon in early May.

Wherever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you peace.
