Sunday Stroll

After three months of winter weather, it becomes difficult to find something new to photograph. Summer is one long pageant of change; new blooms, new colors, something fresh each day. The changes in winter are slower and more subtle. The garden rests quietly and is apparently much more patient than the gardener.

The icicles on the garage attest to the wild wind that blows here.

Miss Maudie seemed to enjoy her romp in the deep snow, despite the extra effort involved in moving from one place to the next.

Why do the hills seem steeper in winter? Maude and I would both like to know! Whatever the answer, we wouldn't miss this chance to tromp up and down the hills together, under those moody skies, and then lay down together in the living room to rest from our efforts.

Aisling these images chill me to the bone. I do not like my 35 degree afternoon with the sun shining. But now after looking at your pictures it seems warm in Nashville. Take Care and Stay Warm

Ernestine, Yes 35 with the sun shining sounds beautiful to me! I'm warm and cozy in the house now! Thank you for visiting.

The picture of icicles formed in the wind gave me the chills. Brrr, I'm glad you have a warm snug home to hunker down in. Bring on the hot cocoa or nice strong tea.

Mom/Cloudhands,

Gave me chills too. I keep hot tea going pretty much 24/7 at this time of year!

How true that the garden seems more patient than the gardener, as you say! I've heard so much yearning for spring from so many of our fellow garden friends lately! Although I love winter, this does seem like one LONG winter!

Those icicles are gorgeous, as is Miss Maudy, romping in the snow. Thanks for sharing! I'm sure our lenses will find new subject matter before too long!

Ruth, Last year I had a couple of violets (I think)bloom about March 12, so it can't be too long before the first intrepid blossoms emerge. It has really been a long winter. Ours began early - mid November - and hasn't really let up for more than a day or two at a time since then!

Thanks for the visit!
