A moment caught by your camera - great picture. I wonder where this dude hangs out during your winters - he must sleep-hibernate down in a burrow somewhere - bbbrrr, I bet he is loving that sunshine so much!
Thanks everyone! I've been in classes taking exams all day... so I'm just seeing these friendly comments. What a nice thing to come home to after a very long day!
I love turtles -- and not in soup! They can be very quick to duck back under the water! I'm so glad you were able to catch a shot of this one soaking up the sun.
Tabbie, Thank goodness for the zoom feature on my camera. I walked toward the pond, but not all the way there and then zoomed in for this shot (and another off-center photo!) Then I walked closer to try and get an even better one, and sure enough, he disappeared with a quiet splash.
Thanks! I loved the turtle's stretch toward the sunshine. Don't we all do that at this time of year? I like how things like that connect all living things... even plants stretch toward the sun in the spring.

I know how he/she feels after a long winter and the feel of the sun with warmth in it again.

What a great shot!
Oh, I wish I got those critters at my pond!
