The Birthday Girl

Today is our Maude's fourteenth birthday. This photo was taken last weekend as she ran with Haiku down to a little lake near our home. If anyone is interested, here is a link to a query on my blog for "Maude" with a lot more photos of our cute old girl: Maude

I'm so, so pleased she is still in the world. I've never had a dog live to be fourteen. Dear Maudie!

Thank you, friends! It is a nice day, so she is out stretching her limbs a bit right now. I hope to take a walk with her later; one of her favorite things to do.

Nan, We're so pleased she is still in the world too. She is really slowing down, but I am encouraged every time I'm outside with her and can feel her joy in just being Maude. There's a life lesson there I think.

hugs to you all... I'll pass a special birthday hugs on to Maude!

She looks such a happy dog! I too am really glad she's still with you. It's 18 months since I said goodbye to my 15-and-a-half-year-old Yorkie, and I still feel the loss. They take up a great part of the heart, those special dogs.

Imelda,

I'm sure we will miss Maudie for a long, long time when she leaves us. I try to remember to really treasure the moments while she is still with us... to memorize her exuberence and simple joy in being alive.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a note for me! I know how you must miss your little Yorkie.

hugs,
Aisling

Maude looks very wonderful and sweet. It's nice to hear she enjoys her walks and still has exuberance for life and in being who she is.

Aisling, Happy Birthday to Maude.
I miss my Sadie and she was only 8 years old last September when she got sick.
Have a great day.

Ernestine,
Thank you for taking the time to say Happy Birthday to our Maude. I'm sorry about your Sadie. Sometimes our pets are with us for way too short a time.

hugs,
Aisling
