Poetry Thursday - Healing

I take a walk along the lakeshore
Bare feet in clean white sand
And my thoughts are turning in my mind
Like this pebble in my hand.

There is beauty in these hills,
Something sweet that lingers on,
In the woods and in the fields
And in the wind so free and strong.

I take a walk along the lakeshore
To put my mind at ease
And the sun settles slowly
As my restless heart seeks peace.

There is healing in this water
In this lake of green and blue
There are depths and there are shallows,
There are currents, deep and true.

There is healing in these hills
On the paths through quiet trees
And the night birds softly sing
As, at last, I walk in peace.

Beautiful, Aisling. I took a walk today, too. I thought of you and your Sunday Strolls!

Pom Pom,

Thank you.

The walk in my poem today was conjured up from memory. I was thinking about how nice it would be to get to the lakeside alone... It so rarely happens these days! So, since I couldn't, I thought of other walks, in quieter days, and thought of why they linger in my mind... and wrote this poem.

I did walk today, but in my own backyard (as usual!) I'm glad you were able to get outside. That must mean the weather is decent in your locale!

As always you walk in beauty in your poetry, your heart and in my eyes.

That is a beautiful poem! Makes me long for calm waters and toes in the sand.

Mandie,

Thank you! I was hoping you'd get a little of the feeling of calm waters and toes in the sand just by reading it! *grin*

I'm so glad you came by.

aisling, thank you for this and your sweet sweet words on my last post...I did finally open things up and tackle my few commenters...thank you so much for being there...

this poem comes at a time when my heart is low...I was able to release some of my pain into the waters, feel the coolness upon my tired feet...you are a passionately intuitive writer and I am so fortunate to have you in my life...

much love...

Linda,

I'm so glad to write this just as you needed it. I'm sorry you are feeling low, and that the feeling is all too familiar to you.

love and hugs,
Aisling
