Sunday Stroll - Through the Week

All of these and more are blooming here today. There hasn't been a camera available to me today, so these photos are from earlier in the week - mostly last Monday. I did get outside when the sky cleared earlier today, to mow the lawn, walk through the garden, check the wild apple trees on the back hill (not quite ripe!), and pull a few weeds in both the butterfly garden and the front garden. The air has cooled and clouds are gathering once more. It wouldn't surprise me if it rained overnight again, as it has frequently this summer.

Where-ever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you peace and happiness.

Ruth,

What a kind thing to say! Thank you. I love close-ups because we think about and see the object a little differently than we ordinarily due. There are so many intricate details to a flower!

That pear looks like it will be juicy when ripe!

Abbie, I have luscious and bosc (not sure which I photographed!) and both are delicious and, yes, juicy when ripe!

Thanks for visiting!

Lovely flowers. Delectable pear!

Thank you, Margaret. I noticed yesterday that a couple of those tiny pears have dropped from the branches. I hope that doesn't happen to many more before they get big and ripe! Yikes!

That balloon flower is so cool! I've never seen anything like that. I wish I had a garden to grow them in, all my plants are stuck in pots.

I'm not sure how balloon flower would do in a pot, but it seems like it would be fun to try. It's official name is "Platycodon grandiflorum" and I think I've read it as Chinese bellflower also.

Some growing info could be found here: http://www.gardenguides.com/how-to/tipstechniques/flowers/balloon.asp

Thanks for visiting me and for taking the time to comment!

June, I loved the way the light brought out the vivid green in that cone. Thank you for your nice comment!
