Sunday Stroll - Successive Octobers

The photo above shows some yellow mums that bloomed in October 2008, and below you see the billowing clouds in an October 2007 sky. The last photo from October 2006, my first October as a blogger, shows the effects of an early cold snap. I am still without a camera, and did not have one to borrow today. Even if I had one to borrow, the wind and rains might have slowed me down! I was in and out a few times today, but spent time indoors in my own kitchen and at a lovely baby shower for a young woman who used to babysit my daughters "back in the day." She is expecting her own first child, another little girl. Now, my mulled cider is warming in the crock pot and the house is smelling good!

Where ever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you comfort and joy!

Oh boy, those ice covered flowers give me the chills. I am hoping for a long drawn out fall and then a quick winter and an early spring. Now, whether my wishes carry any weight with the good Lord and mother nature is a whole other matter. Goodness, your baby sitter is having a baby. Time sure does march on.

You're right... Time just keeps rolling on. I'm kind of excited about the new baby in the extended friends/family circle. I guess I'm actually getting to the "grandma age." This young woman's mom only has a couple of years on me. Now that is something to stop and think about!

That last photo is beautiful!

Thanks Abbie! I think so too, although I'm always sad to see the last of my blooms when cold, frost and snow settle in!

Grannyhood is divine!
Our weather is supposed to turn colder tomorrow. I'll have to pull the shades at school so the kids can look out and get that snowy feeling!

Pom Pom,

We have possible snow in the forecast for the upcoming week. Oh no! I'm not ready!

what lovely photos but that last one with the ice, are you kidding?? really?? I am so spoiled here as we have been in the 80's still...getting cold at night, which I like, but not wanting the drizzling days to begin AND the fog...I do hate this stupid day light saving time going on another month...it's too long, well, I guess it's til the first of the month. STILL too long... :)

Linda, Drizzle and fog will sound heavenly to me when the cold really settles in here! Thank you for your lovely comment on my photo!
