While we are picking blackberries,
ripened by the summer sun,
While we are planning long lazy days at the beach,
While we are eating watermelon fresh from the garden,
and summer sweetness runs dripping
down our sun-warmed skin,
While our attention is diverted...
Autumn is quietly creeping in.
We find her flags flying,
beneath an August-Blue sky.
As she sings of comfort,
and the meadow grasses nod their sleepy heads.
Wherever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you a beautiful end of August.

Lovely writing and photographs. I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to summer, but I know it will be leaving sooner than I want it to anyway. My flowers are starting to give up and give way to the coming change of season quicker than I am.
Susie, Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and let me know you were here. Nice to meet you! I'm with you. I love Autumn, but summer seems to take so long to come around again. I'm always reluctant to let it go.
Hi Marcie! Yes, let's start a nature journal on the first day fall! Is that September 21st? Woo hoo!
It is slowly approaching. The red Winged blackbirds have flocked and left here
Oh my, how perfect. I could taste the fruit from your words.

Thank you. Yes, I was having technology issues and have been trying to catch up and touch base since then.
Glad you came by. We have had some nights in the low 40s already!
I do too though I'm not really in a hurry. Lol
