Nocturnal Visitors...

These two rascals visited our yard last night. I had to lure Maude into the house with a bit of meat (courtesy of the omnivores in residence!) or she would have terrorized these little twins. I snapped a few quick photos while the dog was ignoring me, but then left them alone to calm down, once I got Maude in the house. I watched them from the window until the sun went down, as they clung to the top of the slender birch. They must have slipped away quietly during night.

They are SO cute. What is it about raccoons? Must be that mask. You were so lucky to get that shot.

Nan, Aren't they cute? I took 4 or 5 photos and this was the best (though I know it is not great.) I actually had to enhance it on a computer program to get the image this clear. In the original, they blend into the darkness completely and only their shining eyes show.

What lovely little visitors. How can you stay mad at a sweet little face like that?

By the way - check out my blog post from today for a great surprise!

Grace, They were surely up to mischief at some point, but you're right, how could you stay mad at a face like that? Just too cute!

I'm off to check out your blog now!

They are adorable! Those glowing eyes, just gorgeous! There's one who visits our lot at the office sometimes, I see him slinking by my car on his way to the shrubs & trees in the back.

Rapunzel, The big ones have been kind of a nuisance around here sometimes, but these little guys are just the sweetest things.
