Growing Things...

Our family is growing! After Senryu's year in Taiwan, we heard that our community was having trouble finding host families for the exchange students coming here for the upcoming school year. So, we offered to open our home to one of the students. This evening, we will be bringing our new daughter home. I'll write more after I've had a few days to get to know her. In a nutshell, she is from Turkey and is in between Senryu and Haiku in age. She seems to share their many of their interests, in music and art for example, and we are so eager to welcome her.

What a nice, nice thing for you to do, and how lovely for her to come into your family.

Nan, So far so good, though I believe she really misses her friends and family. When school starts and there is more activity each day, I think she will be happier. She is used to a big, bustling city and close proximity of friends and shopping. The Quiet Country House is a big change of pace from that! She is very sweet and good-natured, so we are really enjoying getting to know her.

Mrs. Pivec, Yes it will be very interesting! I already know much more about Turkey than I did just a week ago!

And thank you for the nice comment on my haiku!

Patty, I only hope I can find time to get to the computer and update my readers. Imagine the difficulty of finding the computer chair empty with one computer in a house of three teenage girls, Mom and Dad, and two little boys. lol!
