Sunday Stroll - Hanging in There

All the leaves have fallen from the pear trees, except the russet beauty in the photo above. Though it is November, the milkweed pods are just now opening to release their seeds to the wild northern wind.

Though the "time of yellow and purple flowers" that I wrote about weeks ago has passed, a few tenacious goldenrods and starthistle are still blooming.

Some wild berries still cling to bare branches, and color still graces the skies of a month we often perceive as the grey month of the year.

Best of all, our 14 and a half year old Maude is still hanging in there. She pranced in the sunshine today and it was very good to share another golden afternoon.

Wherever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you joy.

Love your images and especially the one of sweet Maude. The weather in my area is wonderful.
Past 70 today. Saw butterflies, robins and have hundreds of ladybugs.

Thank you Ernestine! It was very beautiful here today, but more in the upper 50s, or very low 60s. Which ever it was, it felt wonderful!

Thank you for visiting. Sounds like heaven in your region!

I love the milkweed seeds! I have some in my classroom, and every time there's a breeze they blow all over.

lol! They are light and "floaty" for sure, aren't they?

Oh, I love the milkweed, too! I wish we had a bit more land so we could grow it here. We're seriously thinking about moving "to the country" in a few years...so maybe one day I will have my field of milkweed!

Love your photos...glad to see you had a lovely day as well. :)

Prairie Star,

Thank you! We have been having some gorgeous skies!

Jessica,

Our milkweed is wild, but I grow some of its "cousins" in my garden (Butterfly weed.) The pods are great fun for little ones. I can remember making a craft with them when I was a little girl, maybe as Christmas ornaments. We used little miniature animals or whatever and created a scene inside. Some we left natural, on others we spray painted the outside gold or silver.

I hope you get your field of dreams one day! A move to the country is an adventure, for sure!
