I didn't know almond survived winters well. I used to go into the grove in CA after they picked and fill bags full. There is so much demand fr them growers import bees to pollinate. I saw a semi full just the other day. I met someone whose son does that with his bees also.

We grow the above noted variety. A couple of winters ago, very cold temps took a toll. The almonds died back, and now grow in a shrub or bush habit rather than a nice tall tree. It is early years for our orchard, so only minimal production thus far.
