Will you come along with me to do morning chores,
before I go lend a hand at the vineyard for the afternoon?
We'll walk past the wind sculptures,
gently rocking in an easy breeze,
and past the bees and the flock of tiny buntings,
feeding in the wildflower garden,
to the old school bus that houses our rabbit friends.
Oops, no photos of the rabbits,
but here is their bus driver, PJ.
The sun blazes over and through the grapevines,
as we let the chickens out of the coop.
Speaking of birds,
let's head to the front yard,
to fill the feeder.
Now that chores are done,
and rabbits and chickens and wild birds are fed,
here is a quick look back at the last few days in my nature journal.
What colors are you noticing where you live?
What are you grateful for?
What are the simple pleasures that fill your days?
Wherever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you joy.

I did go for a little neighborhood walk because the leaves are so lovely and tomorrow we'll have cold and snow. I pray that the cold snap doesn't do any damage and we can continue to enjoy golden October. Your journal is lovely. I adore your drawings.
Thank you for taking me along on your morning chores. How interesting that your bunnies live in a school bus. Maybe one day you might post a picture of them?
Your nature journal is coming along nicely. On my walk this morning I picked up a few pretty red leaves but most of them are soggy and brown.
I love your stroll and the chores you do because it reminds me of the simpler times. You must have fresh eggs which can’t be beat. I am noticing the green that we still have and I take pleasure in still being able to say,” I love you,” to my mom and she says it back.
Thank you, Pom. It is a challenge to sketch with ink, but I am having fun with it! Hope beautiful autumn days follow your cold snap!
I have done a rabbit post in the past, but it has been awhile. I will try to take some good photos of the bunny crew and post their story soon.
Birgit, I love how the green almost glows at this time of year! So glad you are cherishing these days with your mom.
Oh wow, was this fun Marcie! I love the wind sculpture! I love the old school bus! I love kitty! I love the stain glass covering your bird feeder! I love everything! I love your journal!! Big Hugs!
You are full of love. I love that about you! Thank you, Stacy!
That bird feeder us very beautiful! I would bring it inside :) I like the look of your journal, esp. your weather reports :) So fun! You've had pretty fall days.
The top of the feeder was from an old lamp that no longer worked, so we repurposed it. Slos the squirrels down a bit! It has been a beautiful autumn so far!
Such a lovely selection of photographs you've shared ...
All the best Jan
