Loving Arms

“If we surrendered
to earth’s intelligence
we could rise up rooted, like trees.”

—Rainer Maria Rilke, Rilke’s Book of Hours: Love Poems to God

We have several trees on the property, similar to this one.
I love to sit here and listen to the creek flow.
I feel like I am in loving arms when I rest here.

When my children were small, and we hiked,
we would always say that a "natural arch" was a portal
to another place or time.

I guess Micah has been transported.

Mabel is feeling a bit transported too.
It has been months since she laid outside on the warm concrete
bathed in sunshine.

Wherever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you comfort and joy.

What magic you and your children found in nature. I love the thought of a natural arch being a portal :)
I do hope that Micah made it back to your neck of the world :D, and I also hope that Mabel enjoyed her lie in the sun~

Hugs~

I loved spending time in nature with my children! Today I was spending it with "fur babies" and it was a lovely day! Thank you for visiting!

I like the portal, I always think of this also.LOL Gentle weather here had me getting dirty in flower beds and garden, looking forward to planting in a month or so.

Getting dirty in the garden is one of the best feelings in the world! I have been cleaning fall leaves from the herb garden. Excited to see a few daffodil buds. Ready, ready, ready for the growing season! :D

Marcie, relate to your words so deeply
and cannot work in the garden as in the past.
A young man came last week for a few hours and cleaned around the house and spread
some mulch. Looks good to one who is not doing the best with health and balance.
Your words always speak to my heart.

Ernestine, Thank you so much. I worked outdoors for a while this morning. Time to clean up the garden and get ready to sow. But, I remind myself, to truly BE present in each moment of DOING. I know that I will not always be so active. I hope you will have some days this summer, where you can work a bit in your soil... but if not, then I am glad you have help to beautify your surroundings (already so beautiful just because of the woods!)

What a lovely thought: being transported through a natural portal. I'm going to be on the lookout:)

You are so lucky to be living in the country. I grew up in the country and miss it. Seeing a beautiful sunset from the Costco parking lot is just not the same
