There is a break in the rain.
Quick! Pull on your boots, and come with me,
with my one dog sled team, out beyond the still half-frozen swamp
deep into the quiet wood.
We will step over the lingering snow,
while far over head the crows wheel and circle,
keeping guard.
Past the little rivulets and streams that run only in the spring,
to the secret heart of the woods,
where even in the bleak days of early spring,
we can find some green.
We will walk a lazy circuit through these soggy acres,
down to the edge of swamp,
where the frogs are still sleeping with their toes buried in mud.
What do you think?
Should we take off our boots and dip our toes in the icy water?
As we head back home,
we will look up into the mist and gloom
of this rainy gray afternoon,
and we will see that the robins have returned.
(Use your imagination! But, there really are several robins in the tree in this grainy gray photo!)
Where ever you are, whatever the weather, I wish you good company.

Hi Marcie!
Nice to meet you! Thanks for coming by my blog! I love your walk photos! So beautiful! Your dog is gorgeous!!! Big Hugs and Take Care!
What an awesome adventure with a wondrous companion.
The pics look so other wordly.
Magic Love Crow, Thanks! I hoped over from another blog to yours because I liked your name. Glad I did because I liked your blog too!
It's funny you say that, because it felt a little other worldly in the woods today! Lol. Maybe it was the mist. Micah is definitely fun to explore with. He is intrepid!
I had a robin getting chased hit my head and fly into my open car door yesterday. Yuck what it left before I could open all my doors to let it out.
Steven, Ugh! lol. Poor robin! What was chasing it? This morning one was sitting in the Sycamore Tree watching me do dishes at my kitchen sink. Glad that window is there. The birds keep me company through my chores.
Marcie, wonderful photos! It was a dreary, cool day here but we managed to get a dry walk in too.
Robin
Robin, Thank you! Glad you got to walk! I went out again today, but without the camera. Everything was still dripping!
Lovely to see these photo's you've shared.
May you have a good week
All the best Jan
